Windows 11 Upgrade in San Antonio
Windows 10 no longer gets security updates. I'll check whether your computer can run Windows 11, upgrade it without losing your files, and tell you if it's time for a new one.
Open Mon–Fri 8–7, Saturday 9–5. House calls all over Bexar County.

Windows 10 stopped getting free security updates on October 14, 2025, and the extended updates for home users ended on October 13, 2026. Your computer still turns on and works, but new security problems won’t be patched. If you bank, shop or do email on it, it’s time to upgrade.
What I do
- Check whether your computer qualifies. Windows 11 needs a supported processor (roughly Intel 8th generation or AMD Ryzen 2000 and newer), TPM 2.0, Secure Boot, at least 4 GB of memory and 64 GB of storage.
- Fix the “This PC can’t run Windows 11” message when it’s just a setting. A lot of computers ship with TPM and Secure Boot turned off, and switching them on is often all it takes.
- Back up your files, then run the upgrade so your files, programs and settings come across.
- Check drivers, printers and the programs you use every day once it’s done, and turn off the ads and suggestions Windows 11 switches on by default.
- If the computer qualifies but runs on an old spinning hard drive, I’ll suggest an SSD. It makes a bigger difference than the upgrade itself.
When a new computer makes more sense
If the processor is too old for Windows 11, a new computer is usually the better buy. I’ll tell you what a reasonable replacement costs, help you pick one, and move your files, email, photos and printers over so the new one works like the old one did.
If you’d rather keep the old computer for something that doesn’t need the internet, I can set it up for that too.
Pricing
The upgrade is $129 flat, diagnosis is free, and the work has a 30-day guarantee. Adding an SSD is $99 plus the drive. See the full price list. I come to you anywhere in Bexar County, plus Boerne and Schertz.
If the computer has other problems, I can handle general computer repair, laptop repair or a virus cleanup in the same visit, and I can copy your files off an old drive before we start.
Common questions
- Is Windows 10 still safe to use?
- It still runs, but it no longer gets security updates. Microsoft ended free support on October 14, 2025, and the extended updates for home users ran out on October 13, 2026. Any security hole found from now on stays open, so I’d move off it, especially on a computer you use for banking or email.
- Is the Windows 11 upgrade free?
- Yes, if your computer meets Microsoft’s requirements, the upgrade from Windows 10 is free. You pay me for the work: checking the computer, backing up, doing the upgrade, and making sure everything works afterward. It’s $129 flat.
- My computer says it can't run Windows 11. Do I need a new one?
- Not always. Many computers that fail the check only need TPM or Secure Boot switched on in the settings. If the processor itself is too old, then a new computer is usually the better call, and I’ll help you pick one and move everything over.
- Will I lose my files and programs?
- A normal upgrade keeps your files, programs and settings. I back everything up first anyway, so nothing is at risk if something goes wrong.
