Terms and Conditions
Effective November 1, 2026
These terms cover the services San Antonio Computer Help provides in person, remotely, and through the help guides on this website. Booking an appointment or paying a deposit means you agree to them. Questions go to matt@sanantoniocomputerhelp.com or (210) 960-3260.
Quotes and prices
Diagnosis is free. Before I start any work, I tell you what’s wrong and give you one flat price. If you say no, you owe only the house call and travel fees described below, and your deposit covers them first. If I find another problem along the way, I tell you what it is and what it costs, and you decide whether to fix it. The price you agreed to doesn’t change unless you add work. Current prices are on the price list.
Parts are extra. I give you the price of each part before I order it.
Deposits
Booking an appointment takes a deposit: $50 for a house call and $30 for a remote session. The appointment isn’t booked until the deposit goes through. The deposit is the only thing you pay when you book. It comes off your bill, which includes the job and any house call and travel fees.
If the bill comes to less than the deposit, I refund the difference. For data recovery, if I can’t get your files back, I refund the deposit.
House call and travel fees
Every house call has a $39 house call fee. Outside Bexar County, Boerne and Schertz there’s also a travel fee: $25 up to 30 driving miles past that area and $50 up to 60. I don’t make house calls farther than that, but remote help is still available. Remote sessions have neither fee. The house call and travel fees are billed when the work is done, along with the job, and your deposit comes off the total. They’re owed even if you decide not to go ahead with the repair.
Cancelling and rescheduling
Use the link in your confirmation to cancel or reschedule. If you cancel at least 24 hours before your appointment, I refund the deposit. Inside 24 hours, or if you’re not there when I arrive or connect, the deposit is kept. If I have to cancel, I refund the deposit.
Remote sessions
For remote help I use the screen sharing that’s built into your device. You start the session, you can watch everything I do, and you can end it at any time. Stay at the device during the session. I never ask for your passwords; you type them yourself when they’re needed.
Your data and backups
Back up anything you can’t lose before your appointment. If you can’t, tell me and I’ll start with that. Repairs on failing drives, water damage and some software problems carry a risk of losing data no matter who does the work. I take care with your files, but I’m not responsible for data that was already lost or that is lost because the hardware failed.
The 30-day guarantee
Every repair has a 30-day guarantee. If the same problem comes back within 30 days, I come back and fix it free. The guarantee doesn’t cover new problems, physical damage or water damage after the repair, or changes made by someone else. Parts carry their manufacturer’s warranty.
Payment
The balance is due when the job is done. I accept the payment methods listed in your quote.
Software and licenses
I install only legitimate software. You’re responsible for having licenses for the software on your devices.
Help guides
The guides at /help/ are free to use. They’re written for the common cases and come without a guarantee. If a step doesn’t match what you see, stop and book a time with me instead of guessing.
Limit of liability
If something goes wrong because of my work, my responsibility is limited to fixing it or refunding what you paid for that job. I’m not liable for indirect losses such as lost business or lost time.
Texas law
These terms are governed by the laws of Texas. Any dispute will be handled in Bexar County.
Changes
If I change these terms, I’ll update them here and change the date at the top. The terms in place when you booked apply to that appointment.
