San Antonio Computer Help is a computer repair business in San Antonio, Texas, run by Matt. This page explains what information I collect, why, and what happens to it. Questions go to matt@sanantoniocomputerhelp.com or (210) 960-3260.
What I collect
When you call, text or email me: your name, phone number or email address, and what you tell me about the problem.
When you use the help guides at /help/: your answers are saved in your own browser so you can pick up where you left off. They stay on your device. They are not sent to me unless you book an appointment.
When you book an appointment:
- Your name, email address and phone number
- Your address, for house calls
- The answers you gave in the guide: the kind of device, its model and system version, what’s wrong and what you’ve already tried
- For remote sessions, the Apple Account email or phone number you’ll use to share your screen, if that’s how we connect
- The time you booked and whether you paid the deposit
When you pay: card payments are handled by Stripe. I see your name, the amount and the last four digits of your card. I never see or store the full card number.
Server logs: like most websites, the server keeps standard logs of visits, including IP address, browser type, the page requested and the time. I use them to keep the site running and to spot abuse.
The site doesn’t use advertising trackers, doesn’t sell anything to advertisers, and doesn’t set cookies for tracking.
What I don’t collect
I never ask for your passwords, on the website or anywhere else. During a repair you type your passwords yourself.
Your files during a repair
To fix a computer or phone I sometimes need to see what’s on it. I look only at what the job needs. I don’t copy your files unless the job calls for it, like moving them to a new computer or recovering them from a failing drive. When I do have copies, I delete them once you’ve confirmed you have everything.
Who I share it with
I share information only with the services that run the booking and payments, and only what each one needs:
- Stripe processes deposits and payments.
- Google hosts my calendar. Your appointment is added to it and Google emails you the invitation. Your address is checked with Google Maps to see whether it’s inside my service area and how far I’d drive.
- Cloudflare handles this domain’s DNS and forwards email sent to @sanantoniocomputerhelp.com.
- Vultr hosts the server that runs this website and the booking system.
I don’t sell, rent or trade your information. I’ll share it with anyone else only if the law requires it.
Google user data
The booking system connects to my own Google account to check my calendar for open times and to add appointments. It doesn’t access anyone else’s Google account. San Antonio Computer Help’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
How long I keep it
I keep booking and payment records as long as I need them for the job, the 30-day guarantee, and tax and accounting records. You can ask me to delete your information at any time, and I’ll delete what I’m not required to keep.
Your choices
You can ask what I have about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email matt@sanantoniocomputerhelp.com or call (210) 960-3260. To clear your saved answers from the help guides, clear this site’s data in your browser.
Children
This site and my services are meant for adults. I don’t knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
If I change this policy, I’ll update it here and change the date at the top.
