New Computer Setup in San Antonio
Bought a new laptop or desktop and don't want to deal with it? I'll set it up, move everything over from the old one, and show you where your stuff is.
Open Mon–Fri 8–7, Saturday 9–5. House calls all over Bexar County.

A new computer should be the easy part. In practice it means passwords, email accounts, a printer that won’t connect, and a lot of trial software you never asked for. I’ll come over and get it working the way your old one did.
What I set up
- Your files, photos and music from the old computer
- Email, browser bookmarks and saved passwords
- Printers, scanners and Wi-Fi
- The programs you use, like Microsoft Office, QuickBooks or photo software
- Automatic backups, so your files are safe from here on
- Removing the trial software and pop-ups that come preinstalled
Moving off an old computer
If the old computer still works, I copy everything across and check with you that nothing is missing before I touch the old one. If it won’t turn on, I pull the drive and recover the files from it directly.
When you’re happy with the new setup, I wipe the old computer so your accounts and documents can’t be recovered by whoever ends up with it.
Showing you around
Before I leave, I’ll show you where your files are and how to do the things you do every day. That matters most when you’re switching from Windows to a Mac, or from Windows 10 to Windows 11. If you’d like, I’ll write down the steps for the things you do less often.
If your current computer is still on Windows 10 and you’d rather keep it, see Windows 11 upgrade. If you want something more powerful than a store-bought machine, see custom PC builds.
Pricing
Setup with everything moved over is $149 flat. The consultation is free and the work has a 30-day guarantee. See the full price list. I come to you anywhere in Bexar County, plus Boerne and Schertz.
Common questions
- Can you move everything from my old computer to the new one?
- Yes. Files, photos, email, browser bookmarks and saved passwords, plus the programs you use. If the old computer won’t turn on, I can usually still get the files off its drive.
- Can you move files from a Windows PC to a Mac, or the other way around?
- Yes. Your files, photos and email move fine between the two. Some programs don’t have a version for the other system, and I’ll tell you which ones before you buy.
- What should I do with my old computer?
- I’ll wipe it properly so nobody can recover your information, then you can sell it, hand it down, or recycle it. If you’d rather keep the old drive, I can take it out for you.
- Can you help me pick a new computer first?
- Yes. Tell me what you use it for and what you want to spend, and I’ll suggest a couple of models. That way you don’t pay for things you won’t use or end up with too little storage.
