Laptop Repair in San Antonio
Dead battery, cracked screen, won't charge, won't turn on. I fix Windows laptops and MacBooks, and I'll tell you when a repair isn't worth the money.
Open Mon–Fri 8–7, Saturday 9–5. House calls all over Bexar County.

Laptops take more abuse than desktops. They get dropped, carried around and charged from whatever cable is nearby, and they run hot. Most of what goes wrong with them is fixable for a lot less than a new one costs.
What I fix
- Batteries that don’t hold a charge, swell up, or make the laptop shut off when you unplug it. A swollen battery that lifts the keyboard or trackpad should be replaced right away.
- Cracked or dead screens, flickering, lines across the display, or a black screen with the laptop clearly running
- Laptops that won’t turn on or won’t charge. Often it’s the charger, the charging port or the power jack rather than the laptop itself
- Overheating and loud fans. Clogged vents and dried-out thermal paste make laptops slow down and shut off
- Keyboards and trackpads with dead keys, sticky keys after a spill, or a trackpad that stopped clicking
- Broken hinges and cracked cases around the hinge
- Spills. Turn it off, unplug it, flip it upside down, and call me before trying to turn it back on
- Slow laptops. An SSD and more memory cost far less than a new laptop and make an older one usable again
What I’ll tell you not to fix
If the repair costs more than the laptop is worth, I’ll say so before you spend anything. Sometimes the right answer is a new laptop, and I’ll help you pick one and set it up with your files. If it’s still on Windows 10, I can also handle the Windows 11 upgrade.
How it works
Free diagnosis, one flat price for parts and labor, 30-day guarantee. A battery is $89 plus the part and a screen is $129 plus the part. See the full price list. I come to you anywhere in Bexar County, plus Boerne and Schertz. For repairs that need parts ordered, I’ll quote the job first and come back to finish it.
For MacBooks, see Mac repair. For desktops and everything else, see computer repair.
Common questions
- How much does a laptop battery replacement cost?
- $89 for the labor plus the battery itself. Battery prices depend on the model, so I look up yours and give you the total before I order anything.
- Is it worth fixing my old laptop?
- Often, yes. A new battery or an SSD can give an older laptop several more good years for much less than a new one. If the repair costs more than the laptop is worth, I’ll tell you that instead.
- My laptop won't turn on. Are my files lost?
- Probably not. The drive inside a dead laptop usually still works. I can get your files off it whether or not we end up fixing the laptop.
- Do you fix MacBooks?
- Yes. See Mac repair for the details, including the cases where Apple is the better option.
